We recently celebrated three decades of helping Boston youth realize their potential. For thirty years, Roxbury Youthworks, Inc. (RYI) has worked with youth to prevent further incarceration, abuse and exploitation. We work with the most troubled youth to help them make healthy choices. It is only through our combined efforts that we may guide youth safely in our community. It is only through unity in the community that we can give all youth the opportunity for a healthy and positive future.
We were privileged to honor four special guests who have made a direct impact on our agency or the communities we serve:
We help facilitate internships at the Statehouse. We encourage dialogue between youth and police to break down stereotypes. We pick out shirts and ties and drive youth to job interviews. We host awareness breakfasts about our girls being commercially sexually exploited. We bring out their youthful spirit at fishing expeditions, water parks and Red Sox games.Contributions from this event will help to continue these acts (and much more!) and ensure our agency continues to promote youth education, employment, leadership and volunteerism.
