Area Lead Program Director
The Program Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the Family Networks service delivery system at the Dimock Street DCF Area Office. The purpose is to support a system of care that is: child driven, family-centered, community-focused, strength-based, committed to diversity and cultural competence and which fosters continuous learning and permanency; to support the participation of family members at all Family Team meetings; to establish a strong partnership and collaborative working relationship with the DCF Area Director and staff and the DCF Regional staff; to provide supervision to all Area Lead staff. Additionally, the Program Director will have direct responsibility for up to 41 complex cases.

Positions Managed: Two Service Coordinators and One Part-Time Data Coordinator
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide weekly supervision to staff in order to evaluate and plan for the placement and support services identified as needed for the youth and family.

Maintain fair and equitable work assignments for all Area Lead staff.

Address the clinical and administrative challenges associated with the most complex youth and families served by the area office.

Monitor and report on all aspect of service utilization (Congregate Care, STARR, Intensive Foster Care and Support and Stabilization services).

Attend all meetings related to the youth and families on this caseload and complete all necessary paperwork.

Attend a weekly meeting on hospitalized youth and youth placed in STARR to review step-down plans.

Attend monthly Area Lead/Area Resource Coordinator meetings.

Attend monthly Area Lead/DCF meeting at Regional Office.

Ensure that Lotus Notes, DSS dictation and the DSS Virtual Gateway are maintained by Area Lead staff

Ensure that all service referral authorizations are up to date.

Perform other duties necessary for the overall management of the Network, or as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications Required
- Preferred candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field,
- Five years of supervisory experience and significant experience in providing direct care.
- Knowledge of DCF is a must.
- Proficiency in report writing and computer skills is highly expected.
- The Program Director must be able to successfully integrate and balance child welfare priorities with managed care methodology.
- A valid driver’s license and daily use of a vehicle is also required.
